Judging by Darrell's amazingly successful first twelve months as a Granite Transformations franchise owner, that might well be the case. Not only did he increase monthly revenue seven-fold, his Wakefield
operation achieved one of the highest closing ratios in the entire global network, with a sale conversion rate exceeding 70%. To achieve such record figures, he takes advantage of all the product training seminars, marketing material and sales aids that franchisor Rocksolid Granit has to offer, reasoning that a wealth of
know-how is channelled into their design and development.
Although a comparative newcomer to the kitchens and bathrooms business, Darrell previously made quite a name for himself as an independent financial advisor, establishing a brokerage network that was eventually bought out by a major plc. He invested in property and a small kitchen fitting business in West Yorkshire, which soon led to a tie-up with Granite Transformations, his franchise trading territory covering around 600,000 regional households.
Although his management and direct sales skills doubtless contribute toward a smooth-running business and busy

"We have a small team of around a dozen, but we all work to our individual strengths and the business itself has a proper management structure, with strict lines of responsibility."
