We’re All Winners
Entering for the growing number of industry awards, from franchise marketing and franchisee performance through to environmental prizes, takes up a considerable amount of time and internal resources, so we tend to be quite sparing in our participation. Nevertheless, it’s good to benchmark our performance against that of our industry peers, including major FMCG brands, so we do pull out the stops occasionally.
As you’ll see below, we and one of our pioneer franchise owners previously gained notable accolades in the major award schemes and in 2014 we put our toe in the water once again, with some considerable success.
Franchise Marketing Awards 2014 Finalist - Best Website
We submitted our new consumer website for a leading industry award and it went down well with the FMA judges. We outlined the cutting edge technology used in the development of our site, with the result that customer visits almost doubled and online/phone enquiries rose by over 366%, to the considerable benefit of our franchisees.
Franchise Marketing Awards 2014 Finalist - Best PR Campaign
We were finalists in both categories we entered, which as the organisers commented ‘considering the number of entrants we had was a real achievement!’ Highlights of our PR year included editorial coverage valued at more than £¼ million and brand appearances on 7 network TV makeover shows, reaching over 25 million viewers.
Franchise Business Review 2014 - Franchisee Satisfaction Award
Internationally, the Granite Transformations franchise has been named a recipient of a coveted Franchisee Satisfaction Award. The US franchise market research firm, Franchise Business Review, conducts regular industry surveys of franchisee satisfaction and we were awarded a top performer in its 2014 poll. Happily, the UK franchise chief, Danny Hanlon was in the States to attend the award ceremony.
Peter Morrison, Bronze Award bfa/HSBC Franchisee of the Year
We submitted one of our top franchise owners, Peter Morrison, for the nationwide Franchisee of the Year Awards in 2010. He won Bronze overall and topped the Midlands category. The judges commended Peter for his application of imaginative, creative business solutions, enabling the continued prosperity of his business. He also won our own Franchisee of the Year award, after exceeding the £1 million turnover mark.
Granite Transformations, Winner Franchisee Marketing Support Award
In 2010 we won one of the most respected franchisor prizes in the UK industry calendar, in the Franchise Marketing Awards. Winning the overall prize, we were recognised by the FMA for our innovative and effective marketing campaigns for products, service and franchise support. We were also recognised as a finalist in the best TV advertising category.
Granite Transformations, Runner-Up bfa/HSBC Franchisee Support Award
Underlining our continued commitment to franchisor support, we were runners-up in that category in the prestigious bfa/HSBC Franchisor of the Year 2011. The fact that our franchise owners had collectively achieved 23% in revenue growth, during the previous financial year, undoubtedly contributed to our success.
